A week after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was admitted to Chennai’s Apollo hospital, a doctor from UK’s London Bridge Hospital has been brought to help in the treatment. According to sources, Dr Richard John Beale, an intensivist who has done research on sepsis, acute respiratory distress syndrome and clinical nutrition, arrived at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on Thursday.

On Friday when no health bulletin was issued by the hospital or the government, DMK president M. Karunanidhi urged the State government to clarify on the health condition Amma and put an end to speculations. Responding to which, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee chief , S Thirunavukkarasar said that there is no hurry. She is a lady patient and the first priority is proper care and treatment for her steady recovery, said Thirunavukkarasar.

Karunanidhi said although Apollo hospital, where the Chief Minister is recuperating from fever and dehydration, was issuing bulletins about her health, “some unwanted rumours” were deliberately being floated by “some persons.”

“Some persons are spreading unwanted rumours about her health on the social media and to put an end to these, proper information about the Chief Minister’s health must be made available to the people,” he said in a statement.
