Dinakaran, TTV Dinakaran, AIADMK, two leaves symbol, EPS OPS faction, Dinakaran has been sidelined by the party for a long time now and plans to take back the party symbol.

After losing the 2 leaves symbol to O Panneerselvam and E Palaniswami (OPS-EPS) faction of AIADMK, TTV Dinakaran is planning to snatch it right back from under their noses. He has already started strategising on how he will do that. Considering that the symbol is a direct link to Jayalalithaa and every voter knows what it stands for, it has become crucial for TTV to get it back. Else, his political career may be quite short lived. The plan that TTV has seemingly come up with has to do with approaching people, explaining what he is all about and convincing them that he is the rightful heir to Jaya legacy and they should vote for him and boost him into the Assembly. So, the plan is to win the by-elections. While talking to the party workers in Tiruppur city of Tamil Nadu, Dinakaran said,”I will win in RK Nagar bye-election and take back ‘two leaves’ symbol.” Dinakaran’s camp has been in a rift with the OPS-EPS faction over the party symbol issue. The ‘two leaves’ symbol, on November 24, was commissioned by the Election Commision to be used by the OPS-EPS faction.

In a response, Dinakaran said that he will move the Supreme Court against the Election Commission’s ruling to allow the two-leaves symbol to the unified AIADMK led by Chief Minister E Palaniswami and his deputy O Panneerselvam. “The Commission did not act neutrally regarding the symbol. Our faction will approach the Supreme Court against such an order. The ruling confirms that EC functioned in accordance with the Centre’s wish…the Centre’s hand can be seen, Centre’s intervention is there,” he alleged.

Dinakaran has been sidelined by the party for a long time now and plans to take back the party symbol.

By-elections are expected to happen on December 21 and results for the same is expected on Along with RK Nagar in Tamil Nadu, Sikandra in Uttar Pradesh, Sabang in West Bengal and Pakke-Kasang and Likabali in Arunachal Pradesh will also have by-elections.

In September this year, TTV Dinakaran had said that MLAs who were supporting him were ready to topple the government if the chief minister is not changed. “If the chief minister is not changed we are prepared to bring this government down.”

All will be up for stake for the TTV Dinakaran’s faction in the RK Nagar by-polls on December 21.
