In a major setback for the Left-led government in Kerala, the Supreme Court has not only issued a notice to the Kerala government but has also imposed a cost of Rs 25,000. The apex court also stated, “There is no lack of clarity in the judgment.” This is notable as the Kerala government had cited ”lack of clarity” as a reason for not implementing

“The Supreme Court’s verdict should have been implemented immediately. The Law Secretary and other legal experts had advised Chief Minister to reinstate Senkumar – this is information that I have. However, CM chose to take another option and he was advised by someone. The latest development is a slap for the state government.” former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to Asianet News channel.

BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan had stated, “The LDF government has no right to continue governing.”

“At least now, the state government should reconsider its stand, the first year of LDF government has been full of similar setbacks,” PK Kunjalikutty, MP and IUML leader told Asianet News.

Speaking to Asianet News this afternoon, Advocate Kalleeshwaran Raj added, “TP Senkumar should be reinstated on Tuesday and the state government should offer an apology to the apex court for this lapse.”
