Out to campaign in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongholds of Karol Bagh and Rajendra Place, the party’s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi today had to keep mostly silent as she was suffering from a severe throat infection.

All that Bedi, whom the party has said will hold as many as 70 rallies in Delhi ahead of the Feb. 7 polls, managed to say was that she will be victorious at the hustings and would come out to meet the people thereafter.

Bedi canvassed for votes for the party’s Karol Bagh candidate Yogendra Chandolia in the congested lanes of Paharganj and on Ajmal Khan Road in Karol Bagh.

Her roadshow then moved towards Pusa Road, where she was joined by Sardar RP Singh, the candidate from Rajendra Place.

Snaking its way through the narrow lanes of Paharganj market, bustling with foreign tourists and locals, Bedi’s cavalcade attracted much attention. While releasing white pigeons at this stop, she took a dig at AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal that he was the one who had flown away.

“We’re asking the people of Balmiki samaj to vote for us on the basis of the work we’ve done for you. We will fight for the businessmen and form a government which promotes trade and business,” said the local candidate.

Friends, Modi is a good person and so is Arvind and Kiran. But AAP is a new party. Some fresh and honest people have joined the politics. Modi is in center. So we have a chance to do experiment in Delhi. My request to you is to support AAP here. This doesnt mean that we are not supporting Modi. New faces will take some time to settle down. We should give them ample time. They are educated and committed people. Don’t kill them for their one or two mistakes. They did a few mistakes but not crimes unlike other parties. Mistakes because of inexperience. Mistakes because of some miscalculations. Friends, be positive, we are 50 years behind other advance countries. We need radical change to cover up this gap. The conventional politics will never be able to provide this kind of change. Have faith in youngsters. Modi and Kiran both are 65. We must give chance to youngsters at least for state election. 9 months of BJP are over. No significant change for a common man..everything is happening for big businessmen. We all want our country to grow. But please be logical. In US, a president is not allowed to contest after 8 years of power. That’s why they know they will be common man after 8 years and they have only 8 years. Hence they work hard. Here our politicians are not in a hurry. They know public is not logical ..public is illiterate (it was earlier but not now) ..emotional. so they work as if they are king. Dear friends, be logical. Honest and educated young people can run the country better. Have faith.
