Amjed Ullah Khan, a politician from Hyderabad, is by all accounts determined to guarantee that policemen also abide by traffic norms for which they charge the commoners. This Hyderabad-based politician is a part of the Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) and has begun his own movement with the slogan #Practicewhatyoupreach to ensure that the policemen also follow the traffic rules.

With #Practicewhatyoupreach on his official Twitter, Khan tweets photographs and recordings of policemen, who are found on the streets without their head protectors or those that are seen riding in triples or talking on their mobiles while riding. He has been referring each tweet to the DGP of Telangana, Anurag Sharma on the latter’s official Twitter handle @TelanganaDGP. Alongside, he has also referred to Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao in the tweets. He has been sharing the proofs of these rule violating policemen for the last one week to make sure they come under the notice of the Telangana administration.

Khan, likewise, asserted policemen have, in certainty, been ordered to issue no less than 100 challans a day as a ‘target so that they can fill up the empty coffers of Hyderabad police department.’ Through his tweets, Khan also brought it to everyone’s notice that Hyderabad traffic police have been consistently issuing a lot of challans every day.

In one of his tweets on Thursday, August 3, Khan asked Commissioner of Hyderabad Police to punish a cop who was riding his bike without a helmet on. Khan tweeted, “Commissioner of Police Hyd Janab ab inka license cancel karo na…..? Khanoon sab ke liye ek hai ? @TelanganaDGP @CPHydCity @HYDTP @KTRTRS” (Sir, cancel his license too. Law is the same for all).

However, despites his efforts in providing proofs, traffic cops have not yet been penalised, as reported by InUth. Khan also plans to create a collage of all the pictures he has clicked as proofs to put them up as banners across the city so that these rule violators can be punished.
