The Kashmir valley has been put on high alert since the terror attack on an army camp in Uri, that led to the death of 19 Indian soldiers. This is the fourth attack of its kind in less than a month. Earlier yesterday, militants had stormed an army camp at Langate in the Handwara region of North Kashmir.
Three heavily armed militants had opened fire on the sentry posts at around 5am in the morning. The attack was at the battalion headquarters of the 30 Rashtriya Rifles. 3 militants had been killed in the encounter. earlier this week, one BSF jawan had lost his life in an attack on an army camp in Baramullah. At least 3 infiltration bids had also been foiled by Indian security forces on the night of October 5-6. Two of them were in the Nowgam sector, while one of them was in Rampur.
These terrorist attacks are speculated to have come from the other side of the border. Earlier in September, the Indian Army had conducted a surgical strike, across the LoC, eliminating significant threats that were planning terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and other metros in India.
