In Bihar, back to back statements by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies like LJP, over alliance with Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) turned into an interesting incident on Tuesday when former deputy chief minister and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi invited Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to join his party instead of RJD or Congress, which prompted former state chief minister Rabri Devi to react sharply.
In his statement Sushil Kumar Modi said, “Nitish Kumar should re-think about an alliance with RJD and Congress, if he continues to work with them, his political career will surely end.” “He was with BJP for 17 years, where has his political career ended? In fact, his stature has only increased, Sushil further said. Sushil Modi’s statement came after Nitish Kumar endorsed government’s demonetisation move, which has however received a mixed reaction. But Modi’s statement prompted Rabri Devi, who is a former CM of Bihar, RJD leader and wife of Lalu Prasad Yadav, to lash out.

On the question of Sushil Modi’s invitation to Nitish Kumar, she said in tongue in cheek style, “Modiji le jaye Nitish ko uttha ke, le jaiye uttha ke, behen se apni shadi karayenge (le ja kar).” However, she explained that she was only joking, “Isme kya aapatti ki baat hai? Thoda hassi mazaak karliya to kya? Sabhi karte hain na?”
Thereafter, while taking about demonetisation she ruled out the possibility of black money under Lalu’s possession. “PM kala dhan chupa ke rakhe hain. Lalu ji ke paas nahi hai kala dhan, 25 saal se case chal raha hai ek chavanni koi nikal ke dikhaye,” she asserted.
