The main Opposition party Congress on Thursday expressed unhappiness over last minute change in the agenda of Parliamentary Panel on Defence. As per the agenda, the army officials were to brief the panel on recent surgical strikes in terrorist camps in PoK. Congress leaders are saying that there was no reason why the agenda was changed.
The winter session of the Parliament will start on November 16 and will be in session till December 16.
The decision to reschedule the session was taken by the Cabinet Committee of Parliamentary Affairs, earlier in the day.
The winter session usually starts in the third or fourth week of November.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had said the Centre was planning to advance the schedule so that the process does not get affected by Assembly elections in Punjab and other states which are due in early next year.
In the meantime, Union Minister of State for Home Hansraj Gangaram Ahir has said that India showed its resolve to the world against terrorism by carrying out surgical strikes on September 29.
Speaking to reporters on sidelines of an event, he said that the world has seen what is the difference between those talking too much and those talking less after the surgical strikes.
He was reacting to rhetoric from Pakistan after the strikes across LoC.
