There seems to be no end to the feud between controversial BJP MP Subramanian Swamy and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Swamy has again taken a swipe at FM Jaitley, saying, “he was satisfied with the work of the PM Narendra Modi government but unsatisfied with that of finance minister Arun Jaitley”. On whether India could be a tax haven, or not, he said the way the economy was heading, the income-tax department should be closed and all taxmen engaged in projects like building roads. “I am unsatisfied with the finance minister and only PM knows how he is dealing with him,” Swamy said, according to a Times of India report.
Earlier, Swamy has targeted Jaitley over several issues- chiefly on the Finance Minister’s performance. The growing animosity is so serious that even top leaders of BJP have indicated that Swamy should rein in his aggressive instincts and follow the party line. He is a Rajya Sabha member while Jaitley is the Leader of the Opposition in the Upper House.
Earlier, BJP leaders said that Swamy had overstepped the “limits of decency” while “weakening the foundations of the government” with his public criticism, including what could be construed as personal attacks against Jaitley.
