BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy has said that he would come out with his biography and indicated that a lot of people will lose their ‘reputation’ thereafter. Swamy is known for his hard-hitting remarks and stinging jibes. Swamy said this while speaking at the launch of the book Evolving with Subramanian Swamy, A Roller Coaster Ride, written by his wife Roxna Swamy. The firebrand MP said he never asked for a ministerial post in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet. Swamy, however, asserted that he will become a minister when his time comes. “I will become a minister…. When the time comes I will get what I should get,” he was quoted as saying by IE.
Swamy has time to time taken a dig at prominent personalities. “Somebody picks on me, I will chase him, chase him to the end,” he said. The BJP MP’s wife Roxna Swamy is a post-graduate from Harvard University and IIT Delhi. She has denied that Swamy had any personal issues with former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan, who was on the BJP MP’s radar often.
Apart from Rajan, Swamy had attacked superstar Rajinikanth over reports of his joining politics. Swamy advised Rajinikanth to stay out of politics. He explained why by adding that ‘Rajini’s sense of politics is very bad’, and went on to underline that remark by saying the superstar is ‘not well educated’, according to an India Today report. He also words to say on Congress MP Shashi Tharoor over alleged death of Sunanda Pushkar.
Attacking CEA Arvind Subramanian for “confirming” through economic survey Manmohan Singh’s claims that Indian economy is in a bad shape, Swamy had wondered if the advisor worked for the Centre or the former Prime Minister and pitched for his removal. Swamy had in the past launched veiled attacks on Finance Minister Arun Jaitley too.
On June 26, 2016, Swamy accused Congress President Sonia Gandhi of declaring a state of emergency in the country by “cooking up Hindu terror business”.
