JNU is again under the scanner for burning down the effigy of PM Narendra Modi on the eve of Dusshera near Saraswati Dhaba in the campus. The NSUI activists who burnt down the PM’s effigy along with others like BJP Chief Amit Shah as the evil of ‘Ravana’ are being questioned under disciplinary cases by the NSUI central wing.
The NSUI activists carried the effigy and said that the PM is responsible for spreading Hindu fundamentalist ideology in the nation.
Now the Congress party and Sonia Gandhi, the Congress President is being lashed out for the acts. NSUI, which is a Congres affiliated youth Party was criticised by BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain heavily today.
Hussain said that Congress has come down to cheap activity and the nation will never forgive Congress for insulting the leaders whom the nation loves.
He also added that the Congress President Sonia Gandhi must apologise for this act and it is totally not acceptable.
Condemning the act, Shahnawaz said that in India, burning the effigy of Indian PM like this is a punishable act and a case must be filed against them.
The incident happened on Vijaydashmi and the student wing of Congress called this as their way of raising their voice. One of the activists said that whenever students want to protest, they are opposed by the authorities and hence they want to put an end to this ‘rubbish’.
