Snake found inside Delhi Metro station bathroom, rescued by wildlife SOS team

The Wildlife SOS Rapid Response Unit on Monday rescued a rat snake rescued from the bathroom of the Delhi Metro Mukundpur Depot. After being rescued it was soon put back into its natural habitat.

The Wildlife SOS Rapid Response Unit on Monday rescued a rat snake rescued from the bathroom of the Delhi Metro Mukundpur Depot. After being rescued it was soon put back into its natural habitat.

On being noticed, authorities from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) called the Wildlife SOS Rapid Response Unit and informed them about the snake in the Mukundpur Depot, which is under construction.

It was found in the bathroom of the depot and was noticed by officials on duty, who then called the response unit. The team arrived shortly and the snake was shifted into a safe transport container. After being observed for few hours it was left in its natural habitat.

A member of the team that rescued rat snake said they are swift and easily excitable and may bite if threatened and the team was careful will rescuiing it.

These snakes are found in urban areas commonly and mostly wander into human settlements in search for food.
