Wanted shooter Mohammad Kaif, a close aid of Siwan’s convicted strongman Mohammad Shahabuddin, today surrendered in Bihar’s Siwan court in connection with an extortion case. Kaif is also an accused in the murder of Siwan journalist Rajdeo Ranjan. The court today sent him to a 14-day judicial custody, ANI reported. Earlier, Kaif had denied he was Ranjan’s killer, saying he had good relations with journalist Ranjan. He had also said that he was attending his sisters’ funeral when the journalist was murdered. Kaif had also claimed that he was a cricketer and won a number of trophies.

Recently, a video featuring Kaif with Shahabuddin had raised a storm as Bihar police were claiming that the shooter was absconding. Kaif was seen with Shahabuddin after the former Siwan MP came out of jail after 11 years on bail.

Meanwhile, Indian cricketer Mohammad kaif has been at the receiving end because of the similarity of his name with the Siwan shooter. On Tuesday, Kaif said on twitter that he and his family were getting a lot of calls because of the similarity of his name with Shahabuddin’s aid. The cricketer wrote on Twitter: “My name is @MohammadKaif but I m not that Sharp Shooter.
Me&family getting lot of calls.M
playing only with bat&ball.”

Plea against Shahabuddin’s release from jail on bail is pending in the Supreme Court. The case will be heard now on Monday. The petitioners are demanding a stay on the bail of Shahabuddin. However, the SC has only issued a notice to the RJD leader, seeking his response.
