After having tasted success on the two routes it plies on, Singapore Airlines wholly-owned low cost carrier (LCC) Scoot will start operations on the Jaipur-Singapore route starting October 2. The airline, which differentiates itself from other LCCs on account of its wide body aircraft fleet of Boeing Dreamliners, already operates on Amritsar-Singapore and Chennai-Singapore routes.

Scoot has named its 12th Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner “KamaScootra” which will service its first destination on the inaugural Jaipur-Singapore route. Currently, the airline has 11 aircraft with each aircraft having 314 economy seats and 21 premium economy seats. Usually, the LCCs rely on a fleet of narrow body Airbus 320. Bharath Mahadevan, country head, India, Scoot said, “At this point, our focus in India is building guest awareness.”
