NIA had taken over the Bijnor blast case from UP ATS in April 2015. The NIA wanted to interrogate Salik, Guddu, Mehboob and Amazad. An NIA officer told IE, “We wanted to interrogate them for the sequence of events before filing the charge sheet. We had got a production warrant from a local court in Lucknow and submitted it in the MP jail where they were lodged.” UP ATS had filed a charge sheet against 5 people from Bijnor, among them is a woman Husna, who along with her brother Nadeem, Rahees, his son Abdulla and Furkan were accused of allegedly ‘providing shelter and logistic help’.
