Echoing opposition’s charges, BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha on Friday said that centre’s demonetisation drive has been implemented ‘without any homework’. “Step taken by PM Modi is highly appreciable, but demonetization is implemented without doing any homework,” Sinha said. The veteran actor said that adequate arrangements should have been made for post-implementation situations. “If they consider demonetisation as a surgical strike, then they should have also prepared for post-surgical strike situations,” he added. However, Sinha said that PM Narendra Modi’s step is highly appreciable. Sinha has been known for his blunt anti-party statements. With his latest remarks, he becomes the first the first BJP lawmaker to criticise the pre-arrangements of demonetisation drive.
Meanwhile, ruckus in parliament led to adjournment of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha on Friday as well. Bhartiya Janata Party has instructed all its MPs to reach out to people by using all possible platforms and inform them about the ongoing developments related to demonetisation on upcoming Saturday and Sunday. Post demonetisation announcement, the central government has been on its toes in order to tackle the cash crunch and ease the inconvenience caused to the cash-starved people. While the opposition is protesting against the decision on streets and Parliament, ruling BJP-led NDA government’s MPs are tackling charges by going on television in favour of the decision. The opposition may mention Sinha’s statement in near future for the fact that the leader is part of ruling party itself.
