The manager of Muzaffarpur toll gateway, where more than 200 vehicles of former RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin were allowed to pass without paying taxes, has said that they had received police orders for passage of vehicles. Dipak Chaube, in a conversation with news ANI, said that convoy included many red beacon vehicles from the administration, therefore authorities couldn’t charge tax from them. “Had police orders to let more than 200 cars in Ex-MP Shahabuddin’s convoy pass without toll, convoy included many red beacon cars and many from the administration,” Chaube was quoted as saying by ANI. Much to everyone’s shock, the toll plaza officials could show no audacity to stop or ask for the taxes from any of the vehicles in the convoy.

Shahabuddin’s cavalcade had started from Bhagalpur to reach Siwan. Shahabuddin came out of jail after 11 years on Saturday, the incident shows that there is hardly any decline in leader’s clout of over the system.

Reacting to his release, JDU remarked the development as ‘a legal proceeding.’ While RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, to whom Shahabuddin has been a top aide, evaded the question on leader’s release. “What problem you are having,” said Lalu in reply to a question. The Patna High Court granted bail to the tainted leader in the controversial Rajiv Roshan case. The former Siwan MP was found guilty in 2004 of kidnapping and murder of brothers Girish Raj and Satish Raj. The court ruled that Shahabuddin brutally gave “an acid bath” and then murdered the two brothers.
