Singh, who was in his 60s, held senior positions at The Indian Express and The Times of India in Chandigarh. He had also worked with The Tribune. According to ANI, on the directive of Punjab CM Amarinder Singh, the police has set up SIT to probe the alleged murder case. The murder came to light around 1 pm when a visitor went inside the house after getting no response at the gate, according to Hindustan Times.
Singh is the third journalist to be allegedly killed in the country, after the death of Gauri Lankesh, a Kannada journalist, and Shantanu Bhowmik, a Tripura based journalist.
