The Supreme Court today directed the CBI to complete the murder probe of Siwan Journalist Rajdev Ranjan in a period of three months. The 46-year old journalist was shot dead on May 13 on his way back home from office.
The probe for the case has been going on with the suspect being Shahabuddin, who is a MP from Siwan. Ranjan had apparently covered crime reports relating to Shahabuddin. While the later is on a bail right now, the probe wasn’t really progressing much hence this call comes from the SC.
Ranjan’s family and his wife have constantly been addressing the Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to take up the matter and fasten up the investigation.
Rajdev’s wife Asha has been accusing Shahabuddin and had previously said ”Nitish ji, please wake up now. You can rectify your mistake and take action against criminals out on bail. The pictures are showing that Shahabuddin is related to Kaif and some others who are involved in my husband’s murder. The picture clearly states that they have relations with Shahabuddin.”
Asha had also filed a petition seeking the transfer of the case from Bihar to Delhi.
The matter is in hands of the coveted CBI and now with the three months deadline, it can be expected that the probe will lead to some action being taken strictly.
