AIADMK General Secretary VK Sasikala Natarajan arrived at the Golden Bay resort to meet MLAs who have been staying there since Wednesday. She was accompanied by a motorcade of 20 SUVs as she arrived to meet the MLAs. Prior to that, she had issued a veiled threat to Tamil Nadu Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao and the Union Government that she is running out of patience and that action has to be taken fast.
In a statement to her partymen at the Poes Garden on Saturday, Sasikala said “Our patience has a limit. We will wait only to an extent and after that we will do what we have to.” She added, “Amma left the responsibility of Tamil Nadu to me, I have confidence to prove absolute majority and confident about taking forward Amma’s legacy.”
She also wrote a letter to Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao seeking appointment by this evening so as to parade her MLAs, thereby forcing the Governor to witness the parade of MLAs, if he fails to call her.
In her letter, Sasikala wrote on the meeting between the Governor and herself on Thursday, where she staked claim to form government.

She also added, “Thus as it has been seven long days since Chief Minister O Panneerselvam submitted (his resignation) and Your Excellency accepted his resignation, taking the urgency of the situation at hand, I would like to seek an appointment with Your Excellency by today along with all MLAs who extended their support to me regarding further course of action to form the government.”
While she was addressing her partymen, Sasikala was beamed live on Jaya TV. She recalled on the glorious days when J Jayalalithaa ruled Tamil Nadu as AIADMK’s supreme leader strengthening the party after the passing away of M G Ramachandran (MGR). Sasikala said, “Our late Amma faced several difficulties in running the party and now we are also facing such difficulties. We will overcome every obstacle and emerge victorious.”
Clearly, Sasikala is in no mood to wait. In all probability, she will pitch to MLAs that she is the true inheritor of Amma’s legacy and that she has been left the responsibility of taking forward Jayalalithaa’s legacy. She will convince them that she can prove absolute majority and take charge as Chief Minister. She is likely to remind them of ”traitor” OPS, how he has made an alliance of sorts with a party that had been Amma’s lifelong enemy and direct them not to betray the AIADMK party.
Will MLAs stand by Sasikala? Let’s wait and watch!
