Amid rift in Samajwadi Party, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav rejected the peace formula suggested by the party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday.

Amid rift in Samajwadi Party, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav rejected the peace formula suggested by the party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday. He even asked the party supremo to take away the chief ministership from him. He also added that Amar Singh is not acceptable in the party.

As per the formula, Akhilesh should remain as the chief minister. Shivpal Yadav to remain Uttar Pradesh party chief.

Addressing the party meet in the day Mulayam had accused Akhilesh Yadav of being a liar and suggested that both he and Shivpal Yadav, who is also his uncle, should bury the hatchet and hug each other. This  turned ugly as both Shivpal and Akhilesh scuffled for the mike.

Trying to prove his innocence , Akhilesh added that on the advice of Mulyam Singh Yadav only Gayatri Prasad Prajapati was re-inducted in the Cabinet and Dipak Singhal was also removed on his orders.

The Uttar Pradesh chief minister tried to refute reports of his plan to float a new party . He also warned of strict actions against those “who are making any conspiracy against party supremo Mulayam Sing Yadav”.

The spat within the ruling Samajwadi Party is on for some time now. On Sunday Akhilesh Yadav had dropped Shivpal and his three colleagues along with Om Prakash Singh, Narad Rai and Shadab Fatima from his council of Ministers. On the same day, he also sacked Amar Singh’s aide Jaya Prada as head of Film Promotion board .
