A day after being sacked from the cabinet by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra will meet Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Sunday morning at 10:30 am, reported news agency ANI. However, he ruled out the possibility of joining the Bharatiya Janata Party. “I am founder member of AAP and will always remain in the party,” he was quoted saying by ANI. Mishra said that he will let people know everything by 11:30 am at Rajghat today, reported CNN News 18. Even though deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia said Mishra was replaced because there were complaints about inflated water bills of consumers, PTI reported that one of the reasons behind his sacking was that he sided with senior party leader Kumar Vishwas who has been at loggerheads with the party leadership.
Reacting to party’s decision, Mishra claimed that he would “expose” the involvement of certain AAP leaders in an alleged scam on Sunday. He said he met the chief minister yesterday morning and handed over documents related to the alleged scam. He hinted that he was removed because he had apprised Kejriwal of his intentions to expose the names who were delaying the water tanker scam probe in the Delhi Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), reported PTI.
AAP previously sacked Jitendra Singh Tomar, Asim Ahmed Khan and Sandeep Kumar, while, Mishra became the fourth AAP minister to be removed from the party. Apart from the water department, Mishra also held tourism, art, culture and languages portfolios.
Meanwhile, after removal of Mishra from his Cabinet, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also alleged that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is indulged in corruption. Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari today said that the BJP has been saying repeatedly that Delhi AAP government is fully involved in scams. “By removing Kapil Mishra from the cabinet, they (AAP) proved that the one who will talk about scams will go out,” Tiwari was quoted saying by ANI.
