Sachin Tendulkar, on Monday, celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi as he welcomes former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes and Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh at his residence in Mumbai for the same. Sachin went on social networking site Twitter and posted pictures of Jonty, calling him aptly the father of “India”. South African legend Jonty Rhodes’s daughter was born in India. Rhodes, who has spent a lot of time in India since retirement, and has on many occasions claimed to have learnt from his experiences from the Indian culture. Hence, he named his daughter after the country she was born in. Sachin later also tweeted a picture of Yuvraj Singh as the trio were seen worshipping the Lord Ganesha on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Yuvraj has been out of the Indian team for a while now, due to bad form and is looking to make a comeback through strong domestic performances.
Sachin had initially put up a picture of Rhodes facing the Lord Ganesha and asked his fans to make a guess as to who he was. Some fans did some serious guessing and came up with names such as Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly. While many cherished these moments shared by the Indian God of cricket, there were some, who saw the funny side of it. Twitter trolls, as usual, got on with their jobs and the legend became the butt of a joke. Twitteratis poked fun at the picture shared by Sachin and asked if he forgot to invite long-time friend Vinod Kambli.
