Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has rejected explanation given by his deputy beleaguered Tejashwi Yadav. This comes as pressure mounted on RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son to resign after the Deputy CM was named in a FIR filed by CBI in the land for hotels case, according to Republic TV report. In a stern message, Nitish told Tejashwi to explain the situation to people of the state who gave him the mandate. While ruling out any possible compromise, Nitish said the case registered as there was substantial evidence. The alleged rift in the Grand Alliance in the state continues to hit the headlines.
Yesterday, Tejashwi had attended a Cabinet meeting chaired by CM Kumar. After the meeting, Deputy CM Yadav went to the CM’s chamber. Tejashwi’s minister brother Tej Pratap Yadav and state Congress chief and minister Ashok Choudhary too were present in the CM’s room. It has been learned that JD(U) had demanded Tejashwi to explain the alleged acquisition of massive wealth.
Tejashwi had on Saturday skipped a government function in which he had to share dais with the chief minister.
BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi had asked Kumar to sack Tejeshwi to protect his image and his government. Modi alleged that Tejashwi has amassed 26 properties at the age of 26 without declaring his sources of income.
Yesterday many RJD ministers assembled at the residence of former Chief Minister Rabri Devi and moved together for the Cabinet meeting from there in a motorcade.
