Things have gone from bad to worse for RJ Malishka for mocking the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) with a video that was posted by 93.5 Red FM. After the civic body had sent a notice under section 381 B of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MMC) Act to RJ Malishka Mendonsa for mosquito-breeding at her house in Bandra, according to a report by HT, two Yuva Sena members on Tuesday asked the municipal commissioner to file a Rs 500 crore defamation suit against the radio channel as well.

The allegations by these two leaders, Amey Ghole, who is also a corporator, and Samadhan Sarvankar, who is Sena legislator Sada Sarvankar’s son is that the radio channel and its host RJ Malishka were unfairly blaming the BMC for the problems that were not under its jurisdiction. As per the notice, mosquitoes were found during a routine survey at RJ’s 6th floor flat at Sun-rise apartments in Pali Naka. The report added that mosquitoes found were identified as Aedes mosquitoes and they were breeding in a clay bowl kept under a pot as well as indoor breeding in plant pots.

Interestingly, the notice was sent to Lily Mendosa, Malishka’s mother. “We carried out a routine inspection in Bandra on Tuesday, after which the notice was issued,” Sharad Ughade was quoted saying in the report. In the letter submitted by Ghole and Sarvankar, they have complained that the video has maligned the image of Mumbai and the BMC. The letter reportedly added that the video will also dent the morale of the BMC workers.

“The song did not name the Shiv Sena directly, but it hurts us that Mumbai’s and the BMC’s image is unnecessarily taking a hit. The two main highways of Mumbai don’t come under the BMC and it is not responsible for Mumbai’s traffic or the functioning of its railways,” Sarvankar was quoted saying in the report.
