Yoga-Guru Baba Ramdev on Monday termed demonetisation as the biggest attack on corruption in Indian history. He also compaired opposing demonetisation with ‘treason’. “Demonetisation is the biggest attack on corruption so far in the country, opposing it is like Deshdroh,” Ramdev said in a conversation with TV channel Aaj Tak. In another conversation, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts to curb black money, Ramdev said that former had to ‘change the notes’ as people were not ready to change themselves. “When people did not change, PM Modi decided to change the currency notes,” he said in a conversation with news channel Times Now.
Earlier, Ramdev had said that PM Modi is facing a threat to life after imposing demonetisation. “By demonetising Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination notes, Modi has dealt a severe blow to corruption, black money, terrorism and fake currency business…Fake notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denominations were being printed in Pakistan and circulated in India,” he had said.

“Phasing out these notes has destroyed the terrorists. Due to this move, Modi is now facing threat to life from drug mafia, terrorists and also from those committing economic offences,” Ramdev told reporters on his arrival at the Vadodara airport. Ramdev had said that business of his company, Patanjali Ayurved, has been also been hit following demonetisation. “But people should cooperate with the Centre in this endeavour to clean up the system,” he added.
