Rape convict chief of Dera Sacha Sauda, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh looks to be missing his close aide and adopted daughter Honeypreet Insan in jail. Ram Rahim, who had earlier mentioned Honeypreet’s name in the list of people he wishes to meet, has now done something which shows that Baba was quite attached to Honeypreet. Singh has now mentioned Honeypreet as the person he wishes to speak to, Times of India reports. Moreover, he has given Honeypreet’s number to jail authorities, the report says. It seems that Singh is still unaware that Honeypreet has gone missing and is waiting to hear from her. Meanwhile, PTI says police have stepped up the hunt for Honeypreet Insan who is wanted by Haryana police for inciting violence in the city of Panchkula.

The report says that patrolling has been stepped up along the Indo-Nepal border in Maharajganj and adjoining districts to nab jailed Dera Sacha Sauda chief’s aide. Police officials have said that central and state intelligence agencies are camping in the area for the past couple of days and keeping a strict eye on movement along the border. The much talked about Ram Rahim aide has been booked in Haryana for allegedly inciting violence following the conviction of Dera chief. Even the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) border outposts have been directed to ensure that Honeypreet does not escape.

“Security personnel have been alerted and asked to ascertain the identity of people before allowing them to cross the border,” SSB Deputy Inspector General Ranjeet Singh was quoted as saying. PTI reports that several women personnel in plain clothes have also been deployed to keep vigil on suspects and vehicles transporting goods too were being checked. “Patrolling of public places such as cinema halls, hotels, rail and bus stations has also been intensified,” the DIG said.
