Expelled from BJP for his anti-party remarks, noted lawyer and Rajya Sabha MP Ram Jethmalani today sought to embarass party veteran L K Advani at a function here when he said he wanted to say a lot about him but will refrain from doing so.
“I can find my friend Mr L K Advani has arrived. Well, I have a lot to say about him. But I will save him the embarrassment today,” he said while completing his speech felicitating the Dalai Lama on his birth anniversary.
Advani, who joined the function late and spoke after Jethmalani, went up to him after his speech and jokingly accepted hearing him out and his “embarrassing” remarks aimed at him.
“If my friend Ram wants to say something embarrassing, I have no problem with it,” Advani said, after coming down from the stage.
Jethmalani has been the former Law Minister in the previous NDA government led by Atal Behari Vajpayee, of which Advani was also a part.
He was made a Rajya Sabha MP by BJP in 2010 from Rajasthan but was expelled by the party in May 2013 for six years for having made anti-party statements.
