The unrest that has been fueling in Jammu & Kashmir following the death of Azad Kashmir-based Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani and the stock of violence that followed, the Centre is now trying their best to bring things back to normalcy. After meeting J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and chairing an all party delegation on Wednesday, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is back in the capital.
Over 70 people have died and nearly 10,000 have been injured in the last two months as protesters have clashed with security forces in the valley. The curfew has been lifted in some parts of the state while Police Forces are still on alert.
Singh had said that the Government’s doors and ventilators even are open for any kind of peace talks.
Rajnath Singh had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday and briefed him on the status of Kashmir. The meeting is believed to lead to some strong decisions in the pipeline. Singh had said that Kashmir has always been and will continue being an integral part of India.
In the same context, the Home Minister will be meeting President Pranab Mukherjee at 6 pm today. During the day, he will also have a brief meeting with Indian Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag and Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi.
