Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has hinted that he may join politics in an oblique manner. Since then lots of things have been said regarding the issue. It has been learned that an agency in Bengaluru is helping prepare superstar Rajinikanth’s political plunge, according to Indian Express report. The agency is drawing strategies to make sure that Thalaiva’s entry into politics is well-knitted one. The agency is analysing the voting patterns in Tamil Nadu and the crucial agendas through which the 67-year-old can woo voters, the report says.
A few days ago, Rajinikanth had met his fans after a gap of eight years and had hinted at taking the political plunge when he asked them to carry on with their daily responsibilities, but to ‘face the war when it comes.’. According to the report, in meetings he held with well-wishers and friends last week, the star indicated he would be launching an outfit of his own. It also has been learned that his outfit could align with the BJP in the 2019 elections, according to Indian Express.

The BJP has been reportedly wooing the star to make inroads in Tamil Nadu where Rajinikanth is considered a demigod. BJP has even extended him an invite to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. Close aides of the star said the BJP has also offered him help in launching his party, the IE report says.
According to the report, sidelined DMK leader S Jagathrakshakan, a former two-time MP who served as minister under the UPA government, is another name on Rajinikanth’s list. “There are other potential names who may join us, including a senior AIADMK leader from Chennai and senior Congress leader Karate Thiagarajan,” according to a report. Asked about reports of him joining Rajinikanth, Thiagarajan said while he was holding a key post in the Congress, he would support the star’s outfit. “I know him for the past 30 years and am closely associated with his fan associations,” he said. According to an aide who is a part of Rajinikanth’s inner circle, “The star is also in constant touch with BJP leaders in Delhi. Thuglak editor (and RSS ideologue) S Gurumurthy is mentoring him,” the report says.
After Rajinikanth’s hint, BJP president Amit Shah had said that Politics should not be left to politicians only and the BJP is open to all good people. Shah, however, did not mention Rajinikanth’s name. “We believe that any good person joining politics must be welcomed,” Shah said while responding to a question on speculation about Rajinikanth entering politics. He, however, said it is for the actor to decide whether he wants to join politics or not. “Politics should not be left to politicians alone,” he told PTI during an interaction.
BJP national secretary H Raja had earlier said Rajnikanth is a “popular” personality and is welcome to join the saffron party. Raja, who hails from Tamil Nadu, said the actor has to first make up his mind about joining politics, when asked if the BJP will approach him. “He has every right to form a political party or join politics. But so far he has not taken a firm stand. So we have to wait and see,” he had said.
