Rain alert in Delhi, Haryana, HP: Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur on 22-23 September, says IMD

An IMD weather report said extremely heavy rain is expected at isolated places over Uttarakhand and west Uttar Pradesh.

In the latest weather update, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on September 22nd and 23rd, ANI reports. An IMD weather report said extremely heavy rain is expected at isolated places over Uttarakhand and west Uttar Pradesh. While heavy to very heavy rain can occur at isolated places over west Madhya Pradesh. Heavy rain at isolated places is very likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Also, thunderstorm with gusty winds and lightning at isolated places is very likely over Assam & Meghalaya and Rajasthan, the report said. It also said that heavy rain is expected at isolated places Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Kerala.

Also, the state of Odisha is likely to receive rainfall in next 24 hours as Monday’s low pressure took the form of a well marked low pressure area over northern parts of central Madya Pradesh and neighbourhood. A PTI report, taking data from IMD, said that Wednesday’s low pressure area over north Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood lies as a well marked low pressure area over northern parts of central Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood on September 21, a bulletin issued by IMD said adding that the associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 Km above mean sea level.
