Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi never interferes with the work of ministers and is always approachable whenever required. Praising the prime minister further, Suresh Prabhu said Narendra Modi is perhaps the first prime minister of the country, who has taken so much interest in Railways and believes that this sector has a vital role in the development of country’s economy – he was speaking to NDTV.
The minister also pointed out on the need of investment in Railways. “In last 50 years investment in Railways had gone down, because of which the condition of railways has come down, it is their investment is needed to develop the sector”, he was quoted as saying by NDTV.
When asked about the working style of PM Narendra Modi and ex-PM Atal Behari Vajpayee, Suresh Prabhu said that both had a different style of functioning, but both of them have one thing in common, which is their love of the country.
Speaking about the work being done on Railways, the minister said that the pace of work has increased in last three years for projects which are needed to be completed in next five years.
He added that even while the Railway budget has been merged with the general one, the work which is being planned by the ministry is already in public domain. When asked whether he misses presenting Railway budget, as it is a “one day glory for railway minister”, Suresh Prabhu said that it is glory and progress of railway sector which is more important than the minister, NDTV report said.
