Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi once again attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government for its decision to demonetise Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes. “Demonetisation decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was against country ninety-nine percent poor,” Rahul Gandhi said in rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur.”We will stand by the government if it takes any decision to curb corruption, but Narendra Modi ji’s November 8th decision was not against corruption, it was againt poor and farmers,” he said.
Calling PM Narendra Modi pro-rich, Rahul said that the PM is working for country’s 1 per cent rich people. He said that PM is not ready to waive off farmers’ loan, however he’s lenient on defaulters like Mallya. “PM Modi gave a Rs 1200 crore coffee toffee to Vijay Mallya after November 8,” Rahul Gandhi said. “People from these(rich) families go to America, China in their ships,” he said. “50 families own a big portion of India’s wealth, this is on the courtesy of PM Narendra Modi,” said Rahul Gandhi. “When I asked PM to wave-off farmers’ loan, he didn’t answer me, he didn’t utter a single word,” he added.
Referring to an earlier occasion, Rahul said: “Modi Murdabad slogans should not be used in Congress meetings, as Modi is the PM.We will defeat him politically.”
