Bhartiya Janata Party President Amit Shah on Sunday attacked Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who has accused the Modi government of misleading the nation in the name of demonetisation. Rahul has also claimed that there has been no development in the country under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing party workers in Chandigarh on Sunday, Shah said that Rahul Gandhi cannot see development going on in the country since Modi government came to power in 2014 because “he is wearing Italian Glasses.”

“Rahul baba is opposing because he is immature. Rahul Gandhi cannot see the country’s development as he is wearing Italian spectacles,” HT quoted Shah as saying during the meet.

Rahul has been raising questions on the contribution of Modi government to the country. Shah answered this, saying the BJP has given the country a Prime Minister who can speak.

Shah further ridiculed the Congress leader. The BJP president said that the earlier PM’s (Manmohan Singh) voice was heard only by Rahul and his mother Sonia Gandhi.

The demonetisation decision by PM Modi has unleashed a new kind of politics in the country as almost every political party has grouped in the Parliament to attack the centre, accusing the latter of corruption. Some leaders like Arvind Kejriwal has even claimed that demonetisation is the biggest scam in the history of India.

However, Shah dismissed the Opposition’s contentions. Shah said that all Opposition parties have been exposed after the demonetisation.
