With the Congress party seeking for names and consensus over presidential election from the ruling dispensation, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Saturday said the “minority party” has no right to make such demand names from a “majority party.” “We are not soliciting their approval. We want their consensus. We have a candidate; we have absolute majority to get them elected. If it is the Opposition which will tell us that they have a candidate, then it does not make sense. They are a minority party and they are asking a majority party to give names, I mean ‘who the hell are you?’ This is the arrogance of the Opposition,” Swamy told ANI. Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu yesterday met Congress chief Sonia Gandhi at her residence to discuss matters related to next month’s presidential elections.

Both of them have already spoken to Nationalist Congress Party’s (NCP) Praful Patel and Bahujan Samaj Party’s (BSP) Satish Mishra. Naidu on Thursday spoke to NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu over the same. The TDP chief said his party would stand by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision in this regard. As President Mukherjee’s term nears its end, the Presidential election will be held on July 17.

There is nothing wrong in asking person name. People should Recall memory that nda coalition parties accepted Mr. Vajpay as prime minister but not Advani. What is stopping BJP to declare their candidate. Whether opposition accept are not their candidate will be elected. There is no such rule that majority party can have arrogance

What a ridiculous argument from Swamy. If BJP is so confident of their candidate winning the Presidential poll, then why seek consensus? Is consensus is not a form of approval? Do not fault the Congress for every issue. The PM was criticizing Congress for Aadhar in 2014. BJP was against FDI and GST. What has changed now but for the power? The ground realities remain the same from 2012 to 2017.

The minority has shaped India for too long! It's time the silent and suppressed majority put the minority in their place!

The BJP patriarch LK Advani should be the right person for the candidate of President of India. As he was the person to build up a Party, he was the person of ability to think for the betterment of India and the Indian people irrespective of party affiliation. I do believe as soon as he would be the president, he would be a man of above of all Party politics. A man of ability should be posted to post of highest ability when the judiciary in so motto verdict should abolish all cases against him within 24 hrs time period.

The only reason BJP doesn't have the Rajya Sabha is because its members are elected at different times and elected tions in some states are pending! Not many are as easy to buy as Bihar, and not many are as greedy as Delhites! Only some continue to self-destruct like Bengal and the communist south! Not all are traitors crooks Italians or Muslim league franchisees!

Dimwit he is not saying BJP has majority in Rajya Sabha he is saying BJP has majority to rule and an opposition whose biggest member only has 44 seats (technically not even enough to be leader of the opposition) has not right to question the majority!
