The date 1st October marks the birthday of our 15th President Ram Nath Kovind. The political leaders including the Prime Minister and the Vice-President took to Twitter to greet the President on his birthday. In a streak of tweets, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted President Ram Nath Kovind on his 72nd birthday. He wished him a healthy and long life to President Kovind.  Several other BJP leaders including Minister of State Giriraj Singh, UP health minister Sidharth Nath Singh and Union Ministers Ananthkumar and Nitin Gadkari also extended their wishes to President Kovind. The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee also tweeted to greet President Kovind on his birthday.

Modi also praised Kovind’s “simple and compassionate nature”.

He also said that the President is “sensitive towards” the people.

Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu not only met with President Kovind to wish him on his birthday and also tweeted birthday greetings for him.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is another big name who took to Twitter to greet the President on his birthday. Through multiple tweets, he appreciated the simplicity of the President and also commended his commitment for the upliftment of the poor.

Before becoming the President of India, he was serving as the governor of Bihar. Kovind became the President of India on July 20, 2017, defeating Meira Kumar by a huge margin. He is the first BJP member and the second Dalit to hold the top constitutional position in the country, only after K R Narayanan who was elected as the President in the year 1997.

    Birthday wishes should be normally conveyed personally unless the person is not in the town.There is a limit to these social medias being used for Birthday or may be my thinking is orthodox.
