Three women, who were on their way to a restaurant on Sunday night in a SUV were allegedly attacked by a driver of an Innova car that rammed the Porsche Cayenne SUV that they were driving in, Times of India reported. After the accident took place, the women were stranded on the spot for nearly 45 minutes making incessant calls to the women’s helpline and the police but to no effect. The woman driving the Porche was a 24-year-old freelancer who works for a travel firm. She said that the driver of the Innova got abusive and even hit her when she tried to confront him, TOI reported.

The incident took place in Pilot Chowk Gurgaon Sector 62. Though the driver managed to flee the spot, the police nabbed him on Monday morning after a complaint was filed against him by the women. According to Geeta (name changed), they were on their way to a restaurant in Sector 62 when the Innova rammed into their vehicle. On confronting the driver, rather than being remorseful, started abusing her and even went to the extent of hitting her. Devendra, who was allegedly drunk ran away when locals gathered in the area.

The police later seized the Innova and filed an FIR against the driver. Following the FIR he was found on Monday tracking the Innova’s registration number. According to the investigating officer, the court has granted Devendra bail. When asked about the non-responsiveness of the helpline and police numbers, police commissioner Sandeep Khirwar said that he was not aware of the incident, TOI reported. He further said that the matter will be investigated and if it is found the police are at fault and the concerned will be taken to task.

This is not the first time that the police has not responded. In one incident i dialed 100 no. and the SHO simply replied that he is already on some important issue than the problem i was facing. Even many times 100no. Is not going to be connected.
