BJYM president Poonam Mahajan today approached External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj requesting her to expedite the visa process for the students of Mumbai University who have secured admissions in educational institutions abroad. In a letter to Swaraj, Mahajan said the situation becomes “extremely grim” for these students due to unavailability of marksheets. The students who have secured admissions in foreign universities face problem due to the delay in declaring of results and issuance of marksheets by Mumbai University.
“This administrative lapse have put their hard-earned admissions in jeopardy and they may even lose a year as a result,” Mahajan was quoted as saying in a Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) statement. Mahajan said the courses in most universities in the UK and other foreign countries begin in September. “The students should not be let down and lose their admissions because of an administrative lapse.” She requested her to fast track the visa process for these students “as they are talented, dynamic and the future of our country”.
