Prime Minister Narendra Modi today chaired a high-level meet to review security situation across the border. The meet that took place at 10 am today in Delhi aimed at discussing the strategies to tackle the continuous ceasefire violation and attacks that have been happening after India’s surgical strike.

The meet was attended by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar amongst others.

The PM had chaired a similar a Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meet on September 29. In the previous meet, the chiefs of defence forces and BSF were guided by Home Minister Rajnath Singh to double check security across the LoC and curb any possibility infiltration bid.

The meeting was briefed about the situation on the LoC and the International Border as well as the hinterland, sources said.

The meet comes at a time when the nation is reeling under the after-effects of the Uri attacks. The terrorist attack at Army base in Uri on September 18 has foiled the relations between India and Pakistan leading to increased tension across the LoC.
