PM Narendra Modi speaking at a public rally in Anandpur Sahib. Speaking at the ralled he invoked Guru Govind Singh, saying the tenth Guru fought against cruelty and also gave message of peace among the people.

Highlights of his speech:

*Fortunate that I got several opportunities to serve in Punjab.

*Guru Gobind ji Maharaj fought cruelty with bravery, gave message of unity to people. We have to inspire present generations to follow same.

*Unity of the country was a priority for Guru Gobind Singh.

*In coming days Patna Sahib will see lot of people visiting the place. Step has been taken by the government for the same.

Before the rally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also offered his prayers at the Anandpur Sahib.

Earlier in the day, he took a dig at the Opposition parties which of late have constantly questioned government’s implementation way on demonetisation on November 8. After the decision, people across the country are seen standing in long queues in ATMs and banks in order to either withdraw or deposit cash. Even after three week most banks and ATMs are running out of cash almost on daily basis.

The prime minister, who had asked the people to deposit old currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 till December 30, while speaking in the Parliament House Annexe on occasion of Constitution Day said that the government is being criticised for not being fully ready for the implementation of the step, while the fact remains it didn’t give time for black money holders in the country to prepare.
