While one is the head of the government the other is the head of the state. So, how is the relationship between the current occupants of these exalted positions panning out? Here is what PM Narendra Modi has to say about President Pranab Mukherjee:
1. “President Mukherjee’s long years in public life make him an invaluable asset to our nation. His wisdom and intelligence have few parallels,” PM Narendra Modi tweeted.
2. “I convey my heartfelt wishes to our beloved president… I pray for his long and healthy life,” said PM Modi.
3. “Pranab Da has always been a respected leader, with friends and well-wishers across the political spectrum,” the prime minister said.
A man of humble origins, Mukherjee was born in West Bengal’s Mirati village as son of freedom fighters, Kamada Kinkar Mukherjee and Rajlakshmi on December 11, 1935.
