Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday became the most followed world leader on social networking website, Facebook globally. According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official Facebook page has more followers than the page of the Prime Minister’s Office or the newly elected President of the United States of America, Donald J Trump. Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to have achieved this feat with 41.3 million followers at the time of filing this report. PM Narendra Modi had gained popularity during the BJP’s campaign for the 2014 general elections and soon had become the face of the party with an ever increasing follower base on social media. The country, then(2014) had voted the Bhartiya Janata Party into power with majority based on what the media and political pundits had coined as the “Modi wave”.
Three years later, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity has seen new soaring highs and the once believed to be a conservative leader has even sold out New York’s Madison Square Garden, in the presence of Hollywood elites. Earlier, on May 26, BJP President Amit Shah listed out some of the major achievements of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre and said, that in the last financial year, the most number of cars, two-wheelers and roads had been built in the country. He said that the BJP had fulfilled the One Rank One Pension promise and has disbursed about Rs 8,000 crore to the veterans.
Amit Shah told the media that India had become one of the fastest growing economies of the world, under the Modi-government and even the inflation rate had been contained. The BJP national president Amit Shah also said that the Modi-government had worked extremely hard to provide electricity to more than 13,000 villages in the last 3 years.
