As Pakistan Army chief Gen Raheel Sharif’s scheduled retirement looms over, he has raised the Kashmir issue yet again and has attacked India. Continuing his provocations, Gen Sharif said that Pakistan Army will give a befitting reply to India’s aggression, accordin to the TV news channel India Today. According to a report in the TV news channel CNN, the Pakistan Army Chief has said that India is attempting to sell fabricated stories. He added that India’s ‘plans will be defeated’ and the whole world will ‘condemn India’. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army chief Gen Raheel Sharif is scheduled for retirement next month. The speculations are rife about his succesor. Reportedly there are four contenders for the post, in which there are favourites of Raheel as well as Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif.

There are also reports that following the surgical strikes by the Indian Army in Pakistan, the term for the Army chief may get extended. According to Pakistan news report by Geo Tv, Sharif said, “We have recently witnessed an unfortunate display of utter desperation playing out inside Occupied Kashmir and along Line of Control through a litany of falsehoods and distortion of facts by India. Sharif added, “We expect the international community to condemn Indian insinuations and fabrications about a nation that has made unparallel contributions in the global fight against terrorism.”
