Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday paid tributes to martys of the Pathankot Air Base attack and complimented the security forces for their effective response in successfully neutralising all the five terrorists in Pathankot Operation.
“I compliment security forces for swift and effective response. My tributes to those martyred thwarting cowardly attack in Pathankot Air Base,” Parrikar tweeted.
Meanwhile, Parrikar met National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and three service chiefs on Saturday to assess the situation in the wake of an attack at an Indian Air Force base in northern Punjab.
Lauding the Security Forces for successfully containing the terror attack on the Air Force Base in Pathankot in Punjab , Prime Minister Narendra Modi also on Saturday said that he is proud of the jawans who gave befitting reply to the enemies of humanity.
“Enemies of humanity can’t see India develop, such elements attacked in Pathankot but our forces did not let them succeed. Proud of our Jawans and security forces. Our security forces are more than capable of giving a befitting reply to these elements,” Prime Minister Modi said.
Eight people including three security personnel were killed in a militant attack at Indian Air Force (IAF) base in Pathankot District of Punjab on Saturday.
At least five militants barged into the air base at around 03:00 am and started indiscriminate firing. Though no militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far but local media reports said that the militants are operatives of Pakistan- based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
