Pakistan violates ceasefire along LoC, 1 civilian killed

In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistani army started indiscriminate firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Naushera & KG sectors since early morning today.

In yet another ceasefire violation by Pakistan, a civilian was killed and two others were injured along the Line of Control (LoC) in Naushera & KG sectors since early morning today, an ANI report said.

Earlier on May 28, a civilian porter was killed and another one was injured after another ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Kaeran sector, a PTI report had said.Pakistani troops had violated the ceasefire in Keran sector along the LoC by resorting to unprovoked firing, resulting in death of one army porter and injuries to another,” an army official was quoted as saying by the news agency.

Recently, the army had killed two intruders on the LoC, who were suspected to be part of a Pakistani Border Action Team (BAT). “Two intruders entered in the Uri Sector of Jammu and Kashmir from the close vicinity of a known Pakistani post and came close to an Indian Army post about 500 metres inside own side of the Line of Control. After a firefight, both intruders were neutralised by our troops. From the site, two bodies, one AK 47 Rifle, one pistol and warlike stores were recovered, Colonel Aman Anand, Army PRO, was quoted as saying by Indian express.

The incident had happened near south of Jhelum, in the Kathi battalion area of 12 Brigade sector. As per the report, an Indian post was alerted by the sound of a claymore mine. Security forces saw two intruders moving towards the Pakistani side of the LoC. Soldiers ran after detecting them. Two terrorists have been killed in the ensuing a gunfight round 100 metres from the Indian post, the paper said further.
