Amid the hullabaloo over the casting of Pakistan's artistes in the Indian movies, Fawad Khan has reportedly been approached for a film project by Shyam Benegal.

Amid the hullabaloo over the casting of Pakistan’s artistes in the Indian movies, Fawad Khan has reportedly been approached for a film project by Shyam Benegal. The ‘Ae Dil Hai Muskil’ actor has been offered a role by  National Award winning filmmaker in his movie that would talk about reuniting the warring countries through art and cultural ties, according to a leading national daily.

As per the report, Shyam Benegal has offered the role of a musician to ‘Khoobsurat’ actor in the movie titled ‘Ye Raste Hain Pyaar Ke’. The movie will be directed by Harsh Narayan. It will portray the journey of two musicians who will tour the two warring countries during which they will discover themselves.

While the movies including Raees and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Pakistani actors are facing a threat with the growing tension between India and Pakistan, the news might drop the jaws of  all cinema aficionados.

It is to be known that the Indian movie industry has been divided in two sections on casting artistes of Pakistan. After the statement of Ajay Devgn that the nation comes first for him and he wouldn’t care at all if his films don’t release in Pakistan, The reaction of actor Ronit Roy has fueled the heated topic. At the trailer launch of Dongri Ka Raja, Ronit when asked about his opinion on the issue and he said, “My friend told me that he had a conversation with the jawan about this ban and the jawan, in return, asked him a question, ‘we are fighting here day and night for you, facing a shower of bullets for you and you are sitting there in Mumbai and drinking tea with those (Pakistani) actors?’ That story stayed with me and I hope you got your answer.”
