Going by its stand, India skipped the opening ceremony of China’s One Belt, One Road (OBOR) summit on Sunday morning, reported news agency PTI. The agency reported that no Indian delegation was seen at the opening ceremony which was addressed by Chinese President, Xi Jinping. The meeting called the Belt and Road Forum (BRF) is being attended by 29 heads of state and governments including Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif and his Sri Lankan counterpart Ranil Wickrmasinghe, besides official delegations from other South Asian countries. So far, India is the only South Asian country that has not signed the deal. Defence experts on Sunday said the Chinese flagship programme ‘One Belt, One Road,’ a network of trade route that seeks to connect Asia, Africa, the West Asia and Europe, poses a major security threat to India as Beijing is trying to encircle New Delhi by undertaking construction projects in the neighbouring countries under the guise of connectivity purposes, reported ANI.

      China should not be allowed to construct the project in India territory, that will be a big security threat to us. It is publicly known fact that China supports stan which is an enemy to us and even we have border issues with China, so this is no a ideal thought of allowing China to construct the project in our territory.
