With BJP looking all set to win the Delhi MCD elections 2017, as per the current trends, senior AAP leader Gopal Rai has once again put the blame on allegedly faulty EVMs. Speaking to reporters after the early leads in the polls came out, Rai told reporters that BJP was not winning because of a “Narendra Modi-wave” but because of “EVM-wave” that also helped the saffron party win Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
“It is not Modi wave, but EVM-wave”, said Gopal Rai, while passing the buck of AAP’s impending massive loss in the civic body polls. As per current trends, BJP is winning in 181 seats, while Congress and AAP are ahead in 38 and 40 seats respectively. Others are ahead in 11 seats.
Earlier in the day, Delhi unit chief Manoj Tewari had called for Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to resign. “If results go along the current trend, Arvind Kejriwal should resign as chief minister of Delhi, ” he was quoted to have said by India Today.
When asked by the channel, whether the Arvind Kejriwal should resign and fresh assembly elections be held in the national capital, he said that its the people of the national capital who want this.
Avoiding the question on whether he sees as the BJP’ s CM candidate in next Assembly elections in the national capital, Manoj Tewari said he is happy being BJP’s Delhi unit chief.
He also said that within next 3-4 months, the face of Delhi will change and it will be a clean city.
The BJP Delhi unit chief also said that if BJP wins this elections, it will not celebrate and will dedicate the win to martyrs of Sukhma in which 26 CRPF jawans lost their lives after being attacked by Maoists last Monday.
