Noida techie shot dead: In a shocking incident, a trainee engineer was shot dead early in the morning on Wednesday. The 23-year old Anjali Rathour who hailed from Haryana, was working with Lava International Limited. The entire incident was caught on a CCTV camera, in which an unidentified person could be seen running after Rathour in Shatabdi Rail Vihar around 6:30 am on the day, the report added.
As per India Today report, the victim was chased by the attacker inside the basement of her building. The incident caught on CCTV, shows the attacker shooting at the victim even as she tried to run for cover. After the incident, the victim was taken to Fortis Hospital, where she was declared brought dead.
Speaking about the incident, the police have said that Rathore had shared a flat with six other women. They informed the police that the victim had got a call from her male friend in the morning, after which she left for the basement. The police suspect the boyfriend had a role to play in the murder. A case has been registered.
The 23-year old had graduated from Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar last year. Same year in June, she got campus placement at Lava and joined there as a trainee engineer, the Hindustan Times report said.
Her family members and relatives have accused a friend of hers of carrying out the killing. The friend was said to have studied with Rathour at the University. Her call records also showed a call from him.
Elsewhere, on the same day, another techie was found dead in Chennai, As per The Hindu report, Illayaraja (30) of Dindivanam, who was an Infosys employee, was found dead on the company’s premises at the Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
