RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s wife and former Chief Minister of Bihar, Rabri Devi, on Sunday said that she wants her two sons to get married to ‘desi girls’ just like herself, Indian Express reported. It must be noted that both sons of the Yadav family, Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejaswi Prasad Yadav, in their late 20s, are a part of the Bihar cabinet and handle the portfolios of the Health Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister respectively. The former Bihar CM expressed her desire for “well-cultured brides” during the 70th birthday celebrations of Lalu Yadav at their residence. Rabri Devi said that she wanted daughters-in-law who did not go to malls and did not like cinema halls. She wished for a well-cultured bride, especially for Tej Pratap Yadav, since he was, according to her, very religious. Exactly what the two boys have to say about this is not clear. They are both modern in their mindset and have performed well with their duties of taking over the reigns of RJD party from Lalu – although the final call is still that of the senior Yadav. Rabri’s comments meant a field day for Twitterati and they did not disappoint with their reaction being everything from eye-ball grabbers to hilarious in the extreme. Check it all out here:

Co-incidentally, the Yadav family is under the radar for the ‘soil to mall’ scam, Indian Express reported. Earlier BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi had alleged that the said land had
been acquired by the Yadav family with the influence of Lalu Yadav when he served as the Railways Minister in 2008. Meanwhile Lalu Yadav had refuted the claims saying, “All the
allegations levelled against my family (wife and two sons) are baseless and absurd. All the transactions have been done in accordance with the relevant provisions of the laws concerned”.
